The Art Career of Michael Redhawk has been a journey of the heart. Born in the US into a military family, Michael spent part of his teenage years in Panama. Here he made his first piece of jewelry, which became the envy of his schoolmates. When he was not in the ocean swimming and diving for cannonballs, he could be found assembling jewelry and drawing sailing ships.
In the early 70’s Michael called upon his innate gift of design to become a self-taught jeweler in Virginia Beach, VA. He entered his jewelry in East coast competitions and won over forty awards, including Best of Show silver trophies for two consecutive years at the prestigious Pikesville, Maryland Invitational and two First Place trophies from the Eastern Federation Division of Mineralogical and Lapidary Society. He soon became an honored judge for the Federation. For thirty years Michael owned jewelry stores in Virginia Beach and Sedona featuring his unique designs. Notable clients include Goldie Hawn and Chuck Norris. Redhawk’s work was featured in National Parks across the country and he also designed a line of SW jewelry for Robert Redford’s Sundance catalog.
