Sandy Terry

The Terry Pottery my husband and I started back in 1969 has been my passion and my professional career. Over the years my work has been represented in many galleries throughout the country. Commissions have included museums and residential installations. My ceramic work is wheel thrown or hand built with slabs, coils and wheel thrown additions. My signature has always been my surface treatments. How the clay responds to textures is my primary interest, whether from markings, rolling or adding relief design elements. I have taught ceramics at Prescott College and Yavapai College. Oil painting is another art form where I find pure enjoyment in the beauty and challenge of every brush stroke. I have a B.A. in painting from Massachusetts College of Art and I studied with master potter Harry Holl.
