Since 1992 Steve Failows has been producing unique one of a kind kaleidoscopes. They vary in size from small hand held styles to grand floor models. The bodies are made from slip cast ceramic in numerous low fire glazes. The pedestals are one of a kind and include assorted crystals, fossils, wood and stone. The majority have dual stained glass wheels and unusually wide view ports up to six inches wide, allowing for comfortable viewing with both eyes. Most also come in a cone shape which allows for a tapered three mirror system, which produces a unique three dimensional ball or sphere image surrounded by a black field. All of the kaleidoscopes are joined to their pedestals with detailed hand soldered armatures and are removable for shipping. Steve's passion for kaleidoscopes is due to the overwhelming positive feedback he receives. The joyful nostalgic and fun nature of the kaleidoscopes encourages both the artist and the customer to stay young at heart.
